Mounting Instructions for Prism Pole Adjusting Bracket:

• Place an extra tip (std. point) on the top of the longest pole you will be adjusting. Measure the low rod length... point to point. Add three inches to this measurement. This will be the distance from the upper to the lower bracket.

• Determine where on the wall you want the brackets located. Mark where you want the top of the lower bracket to be. Using the point to point distance plus the three inches... measure up and mark where the top of the upper bracket is to be located.

• Hold the top of the upper bracket with the hole up and the same sized holes against wall and mark where the top screw attaches to the wall. Drill one pilot hole initially.

• Attach the upper bracket by the top hole. Do not fully tighten! Place a carpenter's level on the top of the bracket parallel to the wall and proceed to level the bracket. When it is level, fully lighten the screw and drill a second pilot hole. Making sure the bracket remains level, insert and fully tighten the second screw.

• Put the pin with hole into the hole of the upper bracket. Put the 'S'-hook through the hole and attach your plumb bob on the hook. Align the hole in the lower bracket with the plumb bob tip by sliding the adjustable bracket accordingly. Make sure to keep the bracket level. Fasten the bracket to the wall, place the carpenter's level on the bracket, level, and fully tighten. The hole should line up fairly well with the plumb bob, but the final alignment will be done last. Drill the hole for the last screw. Making sure it is still level, insert and fully tighten the last screw.

• Align the hole with plumb bob by moving the articulated portion of the lower bracket. Tighten the nut. The alignment should be stable, but it is a good idea to check it periodically.

Adusting the Pole:

With an extra tip on top of the pole, insert the bottom point into the lower alignment hole. Extend the pole, inserting the point into the upper alignment hole (outside hole). Be sure you extend it with a little pressure so the pole is securely held by the bracket. It should be snug but rotate freely.

• Once the pole is secure... center bubble vial by adjusting the allen screws below the bubble housing.
• Next turn the pole 180 degrees... if the bubble is still centered... your calibration is complete.
• If the bubble is out of center... you need to take out half the error by using the adjusting screws... turn the pole back 180 degrees... center bubble and go through the adjustment procedure until the bubble is centered. Once this is done... bubble should be centered on all four sides.
